Tuesday Morning Sketches #383 - Anything Goes

Ahhhh time to put a little love in your heart, lol you can always tell when I write tired :o)

As much as I LOVE Christmas and everything to do with the meaning and celebration of it I'm usually a little ready to be done with Christmas cards by now.   I just received this new Heart die from CTMH and since our challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches is "Anything Goes"  I was anxious to give the die a try.

Here's my first little batch, I used the positive image, the negative image and the image image!! The actual purpose of the die is the cute thin hearts but I thought I could use all three pieces and it was really fun making these, plus they went fast.

Pretty much everything is CTMH; the paper is retired,  the stamp set is one of the sets that comes with the ever so wonderful Flower Market Cricut Collection.  I brushed the CTMH glimmer pen all over the hearts and the negative image but I had already attached the thin hearts so I didn't add it to those.  I used quite a bit of foam tape on the first, a little bit on the second and just a tiny bit on the third card.

Thanks so much for stopping by  & have a VERY merry Christmas!!

P.S.  Be sure to check out what the rest of our team made and if Santa brings you crafting goodies use those to play along with us - you have two weeks this time, and this is THE ONLY time we have Anything Goes.

Tuesday Morning Sketches # 382

Well how are you doing on your Christmas shopping?   Me, I better get busy because time is running out - that's all I have to say about it.  I feel a little guilty - I'm just not in that Christmassy of a mood this year.

So....I made a baby card with this week's sketch, in the mood or not I'm usually always pretty done with coming up with Christmas cards this late.  I do have plenty to finish up but they're all duplicates so nothing to share there.

Without further ado here it is... our last Tuesday Morning Sketch for 2016.  This one is easy and if you're over making Christmas cards like me then it can be adapted into so much more.  Our challenge is sponsored by Jennifer Tomasic, CTMH Independent Demonstrator.

Next week we'll have our "Anything Goes" challenge. I hope you're able to carve out some play time or at least get to hop on over and see what the rest of the team made during this most WONDERFUL time of the year!!

Less Is More # 306 One Layer

Here's what I made for Less is More #306 -One Layer with the theme of Outline. I was pretty close to giving up on this one this evening - it really is a challenge for me to do a one layer card but this old Cuttlebug embossing folder came to mind.  I decided to try out the inking the folder then embossing technique.  At first I thought it came out a little too sketchy but then it really grew on me.  After I stamped the sentiment I knew it needed the stem to be just a tad bit longer so I used sticky notes to mask and sponge an extended stem.

All in all it was quite fun and I'm pretty proud that I pulled off this one layer card the first try!!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL week and thanks so much for stopping by!

Terrific Tuesday - Tuesday Morning Sketches #381

Well hello there kind visitor!!  I hope your Tuesday is TERRIFIC and I hope you play along with us over at Tuesday Morning Sketches #381Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  The prize is $5 shopping voucher.  Here's the card that I made with the sketch, featuring Mistletoe Martie & Bertie.

I decided to print this on photo paper and I really enjoyed coloring on it. I say enjoy even though by the time I was getting close to finished I was having a bit of anxiety because I thought after all this detail if I mess it up now I'll spit!!  Well, it's not perfect but I didn't feel the need to actually resort to spitting - lol.  I did however leave the bottom portion of their glasses frames uncolored because it was the very last thing I colored and I really would have been frustrated if I goofed on those.  I was a nervous wreck by then so let's just say that's how their glasses were designed, and call it good.  :o)  Next time I may just buy the colored version and add a little glitter and call it good!

Watercolor doodles: Freshly Made Sketches & Less is More

Playtime this weekend was really limited but I did have just a couple little snatches of time in my studio.  I  played along over at Less is More # 305 with their fun  Primary Colours
challenge and used the Freshly Made Sketch #265.  I doodled with water colors and added some sequins and enamel dots for a fun and easy card.  The hardest part was waiting for the colors to dry.  :o)
Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you some sweet crafting time this week!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #380 -Watercolor rainbow.

I just think watercolors are so wonderful and fun!  Here's what I made for Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.  It is great sketch by Debbie and she is also the sponsor.  The stamp set is a retired Close to My Heart set but the water colors and water color paper is still available.

I really really hope you check out what the rest of our team made and play along with us this week!

Thanks for stopping by and have a TERRIFIC Thursday!

Less is More # 304 & Freshly Made Sketches # 264

Well, dare I say I'm on a bit of a roll?? ;o)

I'm so pleased to be able to post several days in a row.  I haven't checked out Less is More for quite sometime and this week's challenge was too cool to resist - lol- or I couldn't resist so I did resist.  Ok, so I'm tired and getting corny, it just happens!
The challenge was using the resist technique.

For the sketch I just had to play along again over at Freshly Made Sketches because my last post was a loose interpretation of  the sketch so I wanted to make one that was spot on so wha-la.  The stamps & embossing powder are retired Close to My Heart and the watercolors and watercolor paper are also Close to My Heart and still available.

There's lots of great artwork on both these challenges so I highly recommend you visit them!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a MARVELOUS Monday!

MOJO Monday 475 & Fiesta Dinnerware Inspiration

Well hello again, and yet another post this week!  The reason I get to play so much this week is kind of because I've been working really hard :o) My husband had a reverse shoulder replacement on Monday so that means (on top of my job) I have to do his things around the yard as well as my tasks around the house plus help him throughout the day.  So...I rewarded myself with playtime - no guilt attached!

My Fiesta dishes makes unloading the dishwasher a little more fun because I'm often inspired by the color combos while I'm at it.  Today this little stack was the inspiration for the card I made to play along over at MOJO Monday 475.  I do love the holidays and all the traditional and non traditional colors and images that go along with it but it's also enjoyable to take a break and create something on a whim.

Here's what  used:

Close to My Heart:
Sweet Birthday Stamp Set
Flower Market Stamp Set
Fundamentals Paper
ShinHan Markers
Shimmer Brush Pan
Red Enamel Hearts (retired)

Martha Stewart Microbeads
Foam Tape
Cuttlebug Cupcake Embossing Folder
Ribbon from my stash I can't remember where I got it

Thanks for stopping by & have a WONDERFUL day!

Happy Thanksgiving - belated :)

I attempted to post this on Thanksgiving day but for some reason I couldn't add photos to blogger that day, maybe too many cyber shoppers.  I remembered it happening some time ago and figured if I just waited a while it would correct itself and it did - but I had a long work day yesterday so didn't get to it until today so now it's late but nevertheless I think I can enter it over at a couple of challenges:

Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope you had a scrumptious Thanksgiving!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #379

Here we are again another Tuesday already!  This is what I made for TMS #379 by Jessi.  Our sponsor this week is DRS Designs and I used their Berry Wreath.  My week was a little challenging with getting ready for the hubs to go in for a reverse shoulder replacement, so I relied on white on white with a little accent that seems to just always work.  From Close to My Heart I used the Oh Deer paper pack Vellum and Star embossing folder.

I gotta run - the boys in my life are a bit high maintenance these days, as I'm writing this I just got home from visiting my hubby in the hospital and now I need to try and get my male boxer who had surgery also (on his ear) to go out in the rain to go potty because he's been wearing a cone for the last two weeks so can't use the doggy door.

Whew thank goodness for a little respite here and there to craft or I would be 100% crazy instead of only 98% lol.

Thanks so much for stopping by & have a wonderful week!

Here's another that I decided to add a little later:

TMS 378 & Cupcake Inspirations 384

Whew - what a week eh??!!

I made this for Tuesday Morning Sketches #378 and Cupcake Inspirations #384.  The image I used is "A Star is Born" from our TMS sponsor this week, All Dressed Up.  You should check it out, so many cute images and also some neat papers too.  You will definitely want to play along for a chance to win some free images.

I really wish that sparkly gold photographed as good as it looks.  I actually have a light shimmer over the whole image area and the stars of course have thicker more sparkly glitter.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful week!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #377

ARRRRGH!!  I just realized that I didn't post my card for Tuesday Morning Sketches #377.  I have no words and that's not very often!!  Just....I'm sorry!  I hope you enjoy it anyway.

The sketch is by Jesse and the prize is sponsored by Close to My Heart Consultant, Jennifer Tomisac at www.paperthisandthat.blogspot.com.

MOJO Monday 472

What fun!  Today I played along over at MOJO #472, I actually did last week also but I forgot to upload my cards last time so I thought I might as well still post them here.  This weeks card is made using CTMH "Oh Deer" paper pack.  I just LOVE this paper.  I also used some CTMH Sea Glass glitter paper.  The stamp set is a the retired "Miracle of Christmas" set that I think I'll use for a long long time because it's just so darn cute.  I used the squish the ink on the pad lid to water color technique along with Sakura Black & White gel pens to - gotta love them for accents as well as fixing boo boos.

For the cards from last week I used a hodge podge of papers from my stash - several brands.

I decided to make a 5 x 7 version for a fun craft day that we're having at my church this month-

Here are the ones from MOJO#471 last week-

Tuesday Morning Sketches #376

Here we are again Tuesday Morning!  Here's what I made for our sketch TMS #376 this week.

It's a real simple sketch but gives you a chance to use some of that ribbon you've has stashed for how long?  I've had this ribbon for at least two years, I love it, so time to stop hoarding.  The embossing folder is from Close to My Heart and so is the stamp set. The stamp set was the Stamp of the Month for October - so sorry no longer available.  However you may want to try the technique I used...I embossed the bell in silver and then used a metallic pen to color it in.  I really liked the effect.

I'm the sponsor and the prize is your choice: $10 gift card to either Amazon, Hobby Lobby or Starbuck's. It's a simple sketch that results in a fast & fantastic card pretty much whatever elements you choose. I hope you have a chance to check out what the rest of the team created and to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches # 260

Hello there,

So when you're short on time (which is pretty much all of us always right?) it's fun to pop together a quick cheater card.  It has all the elements of any other card i.e. planning what to coordinate together etc., you just don't necessarily create every element of it.  I still find it a really fun creative fix to use some ready made elements especially since I'm much better off with them on a card and ready to be enjoyed by someone rather than sitting in my stash.  That's what I did for these two cards playing along over at Freshly Made Sketches # 260.  I hope you don't think it's "that bad" that I took the shortcut!

Thanks so much for stopping by & have a WONDERFUL week!

Tuesday Morning Sketches # 375

Well hello & happy two months before Christmas day!  Seems like just yesterday I was posting sketch #374!  I had a really fun week preparing for a baby boy shower and didn't do much of anything else.  I really promise to post some of the photos of my projects associated with that. There's something in particular that I think you'll think is pretty darn cute.

This is a fun, easy & versatile sketch by our busy girl Melissa again.  The prize is also sponsored by one of us, our ever so wonderful Debbie.  It is a Graphic 45 Twas the Night Before Christmas No. 1 cling set, you can win it just in time for some fun Christmas crafting.

So here is my creation for Tuesday Morning Sketches #375. I cheated on it and I mean a LOT!! I'm not going to confess all the ways but if you take a look at Swan Lake from Close to My Heart you can figure it out (probably pretty easily).  Everything except the leaf is from that paper pack.  I have hoarded my wooden leaves for so long, it feels great to break down and use one.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #374

Hello,

Thanks for stopping by.  I feel like the run away holiday train is gaining speed even earlier than ever this year.  How are you feeling about the insane thought that Christmas is only 68 days away?  I tend to measure in PAYDAYS and there are not many!!

Well I'm wishing you some crafting fun time, and I hope it includes joining in with us over at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.  Our generous sponsor is our very own Jenée and one lucky paper crafter will receive this neat bundle:

Also we are welcoming a new member to the team, Janice Melton!  She is an amazing card maker and a faithful player of Tuesday Morning Sketches. Welcome Janice!!! Please check out what she and the rest of the team has created at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
