Hello hello I'm here!

Oops I did it again!  Let time get totally away from me. Out of town trips, the holidays and a work schedule that was a total blur - that's where I was.

Anyway…

Here's the layout that my clubs did this month.  It's primarily for our January 2014 photos but not everyone will use it for that.  I really REALLY love the look of Champagne or Cashmere ink on Colonial White card stock, and I hope you do too!

I basically just repeated the sketch rotated and in a Cotton Candy ink version to go with these cute pics of my little granddaughter. The patterned paper is Frosted and it will be discontinued after the current stock is sold out.   Of course everything is available on my site pattir.ctmh.com.

Thanks for "hanging in there" with me and coming back for a visit! My photography is worse than usual (and it's never that great) on these, but I suppose you can see ok.

Tuesday Morning Sketches & Frosted Paper Kit

It was sure nice to get in some "play" time today - that hasn't happened for going on two weeks.  I made this for Tuesday Morning Sketches #223.  I guess I'm just in kind of a victorian floral kind of mood these days.  Actually what is, is that I have my Frosted Paper packet out and I just can't resist using the patterns for this type of style…it's so suited for it!  This card is actually a program printed on some pearly paper that I snagged   a few of at an event I attended last year (or rescued from the trash - yes I have been known to be a garbage picker!).  I just realized today that it was 1/2 sheet - so perfect size to make a card.  I just had to make a smaller card out of CTMH Blush card-stock to cover the side with all the words.

Mojo Monday #316 & Dynamic Duos #76

Today I enjoyed making this challenge entry for Mojo Monday #316 & Dynamic Duos #76.  I was in the mood for vintage so I used a background pattern from the Close to My Heart  Frosted paper kit.   I stamped the circle with a stamp from CTMH "Love This" set and the sentiment is from CTMH "Card Chatter; Sympathy".  I know exactly who I'm sending this to already!

Close to My Heart Clair Paper

I really try to post using current paper but this is a layout that my clubs made in April to be suitable for May photos which is what I used it for....trying hard to get my chronological pages done.  I also like to post these so my ladies in my class can see them with photos, just in case they haven't added photos to theirs yet.

I usually use my class layouts for scrapbooking current monthly highlights.

Sorry this cute Clair paper is all sold out.

CTMH You are My Happy & Black Flourishes

I knew that I would be using the Dr. Suess quote stamp quite a lot the moment I saw it in the CTMH You are My Happy stamp set.  It has always been one of my favorite quotes.  When my daughter texted me this photo of my adorable granddaughter this whimsical page immediately started building in my mind.  I call this "lighthearted scrapbooking" when I just set out to play and not take myself too serious, not that I ever really take myself toooo serious.  I just got going and shuffled through things that were laying on or near my desk and this is what happened.  So fun!

Remember Close to My Heart Clementine?

The Close to My Heart Clementine paper has a real country feel to it. It has western designs and quilted button flower embellishments...I really liked this paper a lot!   Even though the photos are from last year I just finished up these pages.  I thought I would post just in case you might already still have some Clementine and would like some ideas.  Keep in mind our papers are not available too long so if you like something it's best to snatch it up as soon as you can. This is my cute little granddaughter she has already grown so much since these were taken.

And this is my almost daughter and almost other granddaughter!  We have three generations of friendship between all of us, the grandma's are just not pictured here.

Tuesday Morning Sketches 217 & CTD261

Believe it or not I did get a lot done this weekend. . . .the usual laundry, sweep, vacuum etc.  I just took some fun breaks in between and it has made for a very nice couple of days.  I did these two cards for Color Throwdown CTD261 and Tuesday Morning Sketches #217.

After I made the first one I got to thinking that I need a few birthday cards this week, so I made the second one for my sweet and beautiful niece.  Her and her brother, my nephew share the same birth date 5 years apart!  She is a teacher so I wanted to use the popular chalk board style stamping on hers - it's supposed to have that smudgy look.

I used Close to My Heart pigment inks, Indian Corn Blue and Creme Brûlée and cardstock - White Daisy, Topiary Buttercup and Black.  Also, the CTMH stamp set For a Friend and one of our new adorable little single stamps (they're only 2.95!) Heartfelt Birthday Wish, all available on my site pattir.ctmh.com The flowers and pearls are from Michaels and the patterned paper is Pebbles Family Ties collection that I picked up at a friends craft store.  I noticed that a couple of the DT at Color Throwdown used a pattern from the same collection, it apparently came right to their mind as soon as they saw this challenge too.

Well you know what they say about minds thinking alike :o) thanks for stopping by!

MOJO Monday #312, Huntington Paper & Perfect Fit Thanksgiving

Yes, as a matter of fact I have been playing again!  This time at MOJO Monday (Sketch 312).  I used the Perfect Fit Thanksgiving stamp set, Huntington Paper Kit, Bronze Shimmer Trim, Brown & Tan Sparkles and also Black,  Creme Brûlée and Autumn Terra Cotta pigment inks.  All Close to My Heart and available on my site.

Laughing Lola and Retro Sketches #83

This Retro Sketch Challenge #83 was a really fun sketch and the Close to My Heart Laughing Lola paper and assortment is soooo pretty!  That's what I used for this along with the CTMH stamp set For a Friend, Gypsy Ink and Black Pigment Ink...all Close to My Heart and available on my site. Thanks for stopping by!

CTMH Stamp, Anna Griffin Embossing Folder & DCWV Spring Fling Paper

I don't know why I admit these crazy things I do but here's another one of the drafts I forgot about.  The funny thing about this card is that I pulled up a book mark for a color challenge blog (can't remember which one right now of course) and excitedly set out to make this card. When I was done and went to post it on the challenge I realized that what I pulled up was a blog post that was over a year old already!!  LOL, these colors never go out of style, not in my opinion anyway and I LOVED making this.

CTMH Chantilly Paper and Compliments

LOL, I found a few drafts that I started so that I could post the beginning of July while I was in Kentucky, but I ended up never finishing and publishing....so here's one.  I video'd myself making this, we'll see if I ever actually post that!! I just made this a couple months ago of my sweet granddaughter and now she's over TWO already!

Retro Sketches #82

Took a little time for fun yesterday and played around with this weeks retro sketches challenge #82. I made this real quick with some Pebbles and Jolee's stickers, Close to my Heart card-stock and stamp. The lighting is funky on the last pic which is the inside of the card, the 'made with love' sticker is from Pebbles and so is 'take a moment to breathe'.  My color inspiration was from last weeks Color Throwdown challenge...was going to play there too but didn't quite post in time.

I can think of several people who I need to send this sentiment to right now, and I have a feeling that you and I both should take a moment (more often) to breathe too! What do you think?

Tommy Paper - June Club Layout

This is the layout my June clubs made planned so it works well for July's pics or lot's of other topics.  The sketch is so simple and takes so little work and paper but as you can see on the one with pics that it works up quite nice.  This is my sweet neighbor's cute baby boy.   :o)

Tuesday Morning Sketches #208 and Color Throwdown #252

Spontaneously decided to play along with Tuesday Morning Sketches #208 and Color Throwdown #252 and I had less than 30 minutes to create, photograph and post this card!  That's why I cheated big time...and why I'm not elaborating much!  If you have a question don't hesitate to include it in your comments and I'll answer as soon as I can.  Thanks for visiting!

Get Organized!

My Mind's Eye, Recollections & Close to My Heart

Goodness I can't believe how quickly time goes by!!  I apologize for the poor lighting on some of my photos...sometimes I just have to do this at night and it seems to work at times and not at others.  For this I used some cute My Mind's Eye paper, Recollections flowers & enamel dots and Close to my Heart (flowers, card stock, bakers twine, stamps, ink and the Make it From Your Heart how to book).

Thursday, July 18, 2013

I think it's fun and economical to decorate a .50 - $1.00 bag to turn it into a a bag that would be much more expensive.  Most everyone seems to really appreciate the extra effort, it's just heartwarming to receive something hand made, agree?

I used the For Always Card Making Kit, the stamp set that comes in it has been very popular.  The For Always paper will continue to be available in the Fall/Winter catalog but the kit will not, so if think you want it you may want to decide quick and get it ordered. It is only available now while supplies last.

Close to My Heart NEW Artbooking Cartridge

If you have a Cricut, you really must feast your eyes on this brand new Close to My Heart cartridge!  It has a great font that will work wonderfully for chalk board style print/cutting, pair it up with some of the ready to cut phrases and you will have so many unique subway type signs and title bars to add just the right touch for your pages.  Many of the cuts are planned sizes for pages but you can resize them however you want for cards and other paper crafts. There are page overlays, and double layouts, and 10 themed mini album pages. There are also really neat photo mats and designs for pages for babies through adults and for EVERY holiday!

And guess what else? Close to My Heart will be releasing free training videos to help you learn about all the many uses of this value packed cartridge.

This will be available to order as of August 1.  Just like our other two amazing cartridges this is part of a bundle...you get 3 stamp sets and coordinating chipboard elements, which makes this a great value at $99 for the bundle, BUT the BEST way to get it is to host a gathering either in person or on-line that reaches $250 in sales and you can get it HALF off!  Yep that would be just $48.50-that's less than the three stamp sets alone would cost!!  Email me soon about how to host your on-line (all customers orders are shipped direct to their home) or in person gathering!

Here's a sneak peak of the handbook, thanks to some wonderful consultants for sharing these images.
